Are you visiting Cyprus for just 4 Days? Here is a Trip Itinerary on what to do and see during your stay.

 


 

Day 1

Nicosia:

 

Start the day by visiting the House of the Dragoman Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios. A beautifully restored 18th-century building now housing an ethnological museum. Open 8 AM to 2 PM weekdays. In the vicinity also see the Archbishops Palace and the Nicosia Cathedral of St. John.

 

Go shopping through the streets of the old walled city of Nicosia. Along the way also inevitably see the dreadful demarcation Line. Have Lunch in a one of the many taverns in the old town of Nicosia.

 

End the day by visiting the Cyprus Museum that showcases Cypriot archaeology from the 9th millennium BC to the end of Antiquity. Open 9 am - 5 pm. There is a convenient café on the grounds.

 

 

Day 2

East Coast:

 

Start the day early by visiting first the Larnaca Salt Lake. (If it is springtime it is likely to see flocks of pink flamingos). Also here visit the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque which is perched by the side of the Salt Lake. The tomb of Umm Haram, the foster mother of Mohammed, is said to be here.

 

Visit Larnaca’s Phinikoudes promenade.

 

Drive through the Dhekelia S.B.A [British Territory outside the EU] – NO PASSPORTS REQUIRED

 

Drive through the town of Ayia Napa.

 

Spend the rest of the day on the Fig Tree Bay beach at the Protaras resort.

 

 

Day 3

Troodos Mountains:

 

Do a day trip to the Troodos Mountains, rising as high as 1952 meters, offering forest trail walks and also quaint little villages. While driving through Troodos Forests make stops to visit the village of Kakopetria, Troodos Square & Mt Olympos-Chionistra peak and the villages of Platres and Foini (Phini).

 

If time permits also visit the Kykkos Monastery.

 

 

Day 4

West Coast:

 

Start the day early!

 

Drive through Limassol on the way to Paphos.

 

Visit the medieval Kolossi Castle.

 

Visit the ancient ruins at Kourion.

 

Visit “Petra Tou Romiou” - Birthplace of Aphrodite.

 

Once in Paphos have lunch at the picturesque harbor. Here also visit the Paphos Archaeological Park which houses a number of attractions, including the House of Dionysos and the House of Theseus, both ruins of large Roman villas famous for their mosaics and the “Tombs of the Kings”.

 

Visit the Coral Bay and the Agios Georgios Cape where you can see the only offshore island of Cyprus.

 

If time permits also drive all the way to the northwestern shores to visit the “Baths of Aphrodite” and the Anassa Resort.
